When life happens, we begin to appreciate those things we’ve taken for granted. One of the things I have missed these past two weeks plus, is my bed! I appreciate the opportunity to lay my head on my pillow once again.
Over two weeks ago we had planned a trip and needed to get our covid tests done. The result came back positive for my husband who had been having some symptoms but didn’t link it. A week later I came up positive too after suffering symptoms as well.
I am thankful that we caught it on time. I am also thankful that even though we suffered some symptoms, we never had to become emergency cases. Thankful for the medical experts around us. I want to believe God had mercy on us. In one week three covid test for each member of the family. All so surreal.
The total change in the family dynamics, treatment, immune boosting vitamins, antibiotics, steaming. The symptoms headaches, diarrhea , weakness, chest pain was so sudden, it felt like a bad dream. Having to be isolated. Not being able to touch our children, or share amenities with them, reminded me of leprosy.
When I hear what others have been through and see how lives have been lost, I know that what we went through was a walk in the park. I’m humbled and grateful! We are not better than those who have had it bring death, I can only say it’s mercy. Thank you Lord for mercy. We are grateful! Oghene dooo!
Thank you everyone who called to check on us or prayed for us. You didn’t have to, but you did. We appreciate you.
For those who are presently sick, Jehovah Rapha who visited the Noruwa Edokpolo family visits you now! You are made whole in Jesus name.
A lesson brought more strongly to the fore again is; family is everything. I can’t say that enough. Make every effort to keep your family bonds tight and free of rancor. We can’t stand alone, we all need someone.
For those of us who fill pastoral roles, do not do it at the expense of your family relationship, be it your nuclear family, siblings or in-laws. When push comes to shove, ……
Finally, this is not a time to be politically correct. It’s a time to maintain all safety protocols and keep your mask on even if others are giving you strange looks. Party? What’s that? It’s a thin line between life and death. Please choose life.
Grateful daughter of Yah!!
