The world is now a global village, with many moving across continents much more easily than before.  Many move in search of greener pastures, a different kind of environment or better quality of life and education for their children particularly Nigerians. Nigerians are one of the most travelled people.

While life everywhere is hard, most of the basic social amenities are lacking in Nigeria. Unemployment is at an all time high, and insecurity is alarming. The low standard of living and low education standard make matters even worse.

As life  gets tougher in Nigeria, citizens are forced to look outside and seek for a better life outside the shores of this country.

Immigration is therefore no longer rocket science. Every country has their requirements and processes, some more tedious than others.

There are several countries whose doors are open to immigrants. Some countries conditions are more tedious than others.

There is this craze to get into the us or Canada, but hey! there are so many other developed countries whose borders are open to immigrants as well. Life is an adventure, and the adventurous make awesome discoveries.

Today’s post will be dealing with some of the countries  who have an easier immigration process, in no particular order.

Immigration can take place legally through three general routes.

# Get a good job as an international staff of a multinational if you are a professional.

# Applying for admission and going in as a student.

# Saving up and going in with your family as a skilled immigrant, which means you have to come in with a reasonable amount of money to sustain you while job hunting. Job search begins when you get into the country.

 3 of the easiest countries to immigrate to are ;

  1. Australia

The fastest direct flight from Nigeria to Australia is about seventeen hours long, it’s very far from Nigeria, but it’s one of the best countrys to migrate to as a Nigerian.

Australia offers quality life to all, regardless of their racial and religious backgrounds.

With a  population of 23.7 million, distance and slightly harsh weather are the major drawbacks of this country, hence it has a huge deficit of skilled labor.

Australia therefore is constantly seeking skilled laborers from all countries.

Australia has lately tightened up its borders by making migrants pay a little premium in processing Australian visas or entry into the country. This has not stopped the influx of migrants from different countries of the world, with Nigerians ranking high on the list.

Australia is a good option for Nigerian migrants . The citizenship process after immigration takes 5years.

To qualify, for immigrant visa to Australia, you need to either be sponsored by an eligible relative or be nominated to apply by a state or territory government agency.

You must score 65 points or more and be under the age of 45 when you apply, and your occupation must be on the list of eligible.

You can also opt for the education route as stated above.

Australia, is a land of boundless opportunities.

2. Sweden

Sweden ranks about third of the best countries to migrate to for Foreigners.

One of the major reasons for this is that Sweden boasts of a hugely developed economy. Their immigration process makes it one of the most receptive countries for immigrants, probably above Canada and Switzerland.

Swedish borders were recently opened to refugees from other countries. This gave a huge rise to the population of migrants living in the country.

For Nigerians seeking to migrate to Sweden from Nigeria, you are welcome to make your move.

Huge career and educational opportunities beckon from Sweden, one of the European countries who have switched to English as a tuition language.

At Swedish public universities, students who are citizens of the EU/EEA, other Nordic countries, and Switzerland do not have to pay any tuition for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.

International Students need to pay though for bachelor’s and master’s degrees. PhD courses are free for all international students, regardless of their country of origin.

3. New Zealand

Besides its slightly extreme weather conditions (cold) and distance; Flight time from Lagos to Auckland is 28 hours 15 minutes. New Zealand is great for those seeking to imigrate.

English is an official language in New Zealand so there is no language barrier. It’s a peaceful country with an excellent standard of living and a population of about 5 million.

Skilled jobs are available for migrants seeking to settle in the country with good earnings.

New Zealand mainly targets skilled migrants, therefore the best options are the Skilled Migrant Visa, the Long Term Skill Shortage List Resident Visa, and the Talent (Accredited Employer) work and residency visas.

Their excellent educational system is also quite affordable for residents – just as it is in Australia.

Any hard working Nigerian can can settle and work your way up, get high paying jobs through legitimate means. Also, as it obtains in Australia, citizenship in New Zealand takes a period of 5 years.
